Explore Yosemite Valley with the Find Your Ansel App!
Yosemite ExperiencesAnsel Adams began photographing Yosemite Valley when he was just fourteen years old, capturing the majestic landscape with his first camera, a Kodak Brownie. It was Yosemite Valley where Ansel got his first job in the park working as a summer caretaker in the visitor lodge. It was also in the Valley where he met his wife Virginia Best, who helped him launch his career and begin the family business that is today The Ansel Adams Gallery. Now, we’d like to share with you some of Ansel’s favorite photography locations in Yosemite Valley with Find Your Ansel. By using the app, we invite you to discover and photograph the very same places Ansel first made famous.

“Yosemite Valley, to me, is always a sunrise, a glitter of green and golden wonder in a vast edifice of stone and space. I know of no sculpture, painting, or music that exceeds the compelling spiritual command of the soaring shape of the granite cliff and dome, of patina of light on rock and forest, and of the thunder and whispering of the falling, flowing waters.”
