We are now open for enrollment for the following workshops. If you are interested, sign-up soon as possible. Space is limited and they fill up fast. Here are the workshops available for the first half of the year:
Hidden Yosemite with Michael Frye – July 8-12, 2014
This class is for photographers who are literally willing to go the extra mile for a unique image. Let Michael Frye – a 25-year Yosemite resident and author of three books, including The Photographers Guide to Yosemite – be your guide.
Ansel Adams’ Yosemite: The Art of Seeing With Alan Ross – October 7-11, 2014
“Chance Favors the Prepared Mind” was one of Ansel Adams’ favorite expressions. And it was his own prepared mind that allowed him to so successfully realize his artistic vision.
In this inspirational workshop, the emphasis will be on connecting Ansel’s approach and mastery with today’s tools and technologies, allowing you to better realize your own photographic vision.
Yosemite in Autumn, A New View with Keith Walklet – October 21-25, 2014
We will use the beauty of early autumn as inspiration to develop a fresh, new visual vocabulary that can be applied not only in Yosemite, but anywhere.
Today’s cameras and image editing software are tremendous tools that help us capture the world around us. Even with these major advances, the technology only helps us to document what we see. While documentation of a magical moment can be exciting, we seek the ability to be poetic all the time.
Fine Art Digital Printing with Charles Cramer – November 4-8, 2014
This five-day workshop includes instructor-led field sessions in and around Yosemite Valley. The November dates will feature the wonderful variety of Fall colors. This will give students the opportunity to make images around the Yosemite region while receiving instructor feedback. The “Fine Art” in the title just means that you are willing to devote the time and effort to explore and optimize your images to their fullest potential.
Platinum Printing with Kerik Kouklis – November 20-23, 2014
In this intensive 4-day workshop, you will start by learning to make high quality digital negatives using the QuadTone RIP (QTR) program and Epson printers. You will learn how to calibrate and control this powerful tool in an easy and straightforward way. A Photoshop script will be provided that makes deriving correction curves a snap.
